
Kyle Bumgarner
Kyle Bumgarner is a 2004 graduate of Chapin High School, and a proud member of Chapin's first graduating class. During his time at Chapin, he was Captain of Chapin's first varsity football team, and awarded all-district and all-city honors for his performance on the field. He also captained the baseball team, earning all-district and all-city honors. Away from the field, Kyle graduated number three in his class, served as student body president for two years, and was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. He was recognized as All-Chapin Boy weeks before his graduation.
After Chapin, Kyle attended Centre College, a Division III liberal arts school Danville, Kentucky. At Centre, Kyle was a four-year letterman on the school's football team, served as Vice President for Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and studied abroad in England, Russia, and New Zealand. Kyle graduated cum laude with a double major in government and economics.
After graduating from Centre, Kyle attended law school on a full scholarship at Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. Kyle ultimately graduated from law school ranked first in his class.
Kyle's first job in the legal profession was as a law clerk to the Honorable David L. Bunning, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District Kentucky. That court sits two below the United States Supreme Court. Now, Kyle is a partner at the law firm Kerrick Bachert, PSC in Bowling Green, Kentucky. His practice is primarily devoted to commercial litigation and employment law, although he devotes a portion of his time to defending indigent defendants charged with committing federal crimes. He is married to Kori, who is also an attorney, and has two boys, Bronson and Walker.
David Costanzo
David Costanzo is a native of El Paso, Texas and attended Captain John L. Chapin High School from 2001-2005. Upon graduation from high school he attended the University of Notre Dame, where he was a walk-on on the varsity football team from 2006-2007. He graduated from Notre Dame in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Information Technology Management. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps, through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Program. David Costanzo has served for over ten years in the artillery community, with two deployments to Afghanistan and Southeast Asia. He is currently assigned to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where is a candidate for dual Master’s Degrees in Information Technology Management Business Administration.
His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
David Costanzo is married to his wife, Attea, and has two children, Kim (6 years) and Michael (3 years).
I am truly humbled to help recognize the outstanding achievements and character of these young men. They embody the true spirit and tradition of the Chapin Husky Football program that will help them succeed in all their future endeavors. I attribute all of my success in life to the many leadership lessons and character-building experiences bestowed upon me and my teammates while a member of the Husky Football program. Congratulations on your hard work, dedication, and achievements thus far. I have complete confidence that this is only the beginning of your continued success in the future. Seth Gonzales
Seth Gonzales began at Chapin in the fall of 2010. He started with the Freshman football team, until injuries afforded him the opportunity to quarterback for the JV team. His next three seasons would be spent as the Varsity quarterback and part of three undefeated district seasons, 3 district championships, and 3 bi-district championships. Awards:
Sophomore: 2011 District 1-4A First Team QB, Academic All-District, All-City QB
Junior: 2012 District 1-4A MVP, Academic All-District, All-City QB
Senior: 2013 District 1-4A MVP, All-City QB, Texas Sports Writers Association's All State Football Teams QB, Greater El Paso Football Showcase Offensive MVP and Leadership Award, Academic All-District
Upon graduation, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point in West Point, NY. Seth played for the Black Knights for his freshman year then moved on to collegiate boxing for the remaining three years. Seth graduated in 2018 and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army, serving in the Infantry. Since graduating, he has achieved the Ranger, Airborne, and Air Assault qualifications. 1LT Gonzales is currently serving as a Platoon Leader in the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Iron Rakkasans.
